    5-week course for adults. Learn to bring pen and paper to life with a variety of ink drawing techniques to create texture and depth. Learn the skills you need to become an ink artist in a relaxing atmosphere with a small group of beginners, taught by a professional illustrator.

About Us

Westerfield Artworks is a husband and wife collaboration with the mission of sharing our love for art with our community in Sonoma County and across the north bay. We aim to connect with and support people who are interested in exploring art, gaining new skills, or just looking for a fun new hobby. Art can be therapeutic, incredibly fulfilling, and can be a wonderful way to build friendships and community. 

Kip Westerfield

Kip Westerfield is a multi-media artist based in the bay area and the founder of The Near Future Ago group art shows. He earned his BFA in illustration from Longwood College and has been practicing art for over 30 years. He specializes in surrealism and abstract art, using a variety of medias. His ink illustrations are surreal abstract with and geometric and psychedelic influences. Kip's acrylic and watercolor paintings range from Dali-influenced surrealism with dreamlike qualities to street and skate art with pop art influences. 

All of The Near Future Ago posters have been hand drawn by Kip, featuring a variety of characters in storytelling scenes.

Vanessa Westerfield photographer nature photography teacher naturalist
Vanessa Westerfield

Vanessa is a photographer with a diverse background in both commercial and fine art photography. Her art photography focuses on both nature and urban life, often displaying the juxtaposition between the two. She is well-versed in both digital and analog photography can teach you how to use any kind of camera or lens.

Vanessa is also a certified California Naturalist and teaches nature photography combined with ecology on guided hikes. She loves to inspire people to be able to observe nature in a more meaningful way through the practice of photography.
